The ibex that came back.
The ibex had almost disappeared from Switzerland. About a hundred years ago it was reintroduced in the National Park. Today it climbs the rocks again. The animal is in our name: Capricorn. It reminds us that patience and good preparation pay off.
Starting again, up here.
Centuries ago the Walser moved into the high valleys of the Alps. The view was beautiful, but it did not heat a room. The Walser had to turn a landscape into everyday life: build houses, lay paths, stick together. Their houses adapted to the place. We still like that today.
Capricorn was the first step.
In 2019 we started Apartments Capricorn with one apartment in an old house in the Jungfrau region. Today there are four. We learned how to look after guests well, organise the cleaning and keep the overview.
Why Scala? Because a leap is not yet a path.
Scala is Italian for staircase. We go step by step: first our own apartments, now the homes of other owners. And the cat on the sofa? It stands for the guest who feels so at home with you that it does not want to get up any more.
